Lactation Services in the Minneapolis Metro
Feeding your baby shouldn’t be overwhelming—and you don’t have to navigate it on your own.
You were told it would come naturally. They just forgot to mention how much support it takes.
Let’s be honest—breastfeeding isn’t always this magical, instinctual thing we’re promised. It’s leaking through shirts, second-guessing every latch, crying at 2 a.m. because your baby just won’t eat. It’s sore nipples, confusing advice, and a lot of pressure to “just keep trying.”
At How2Mom, we meet you right where you are—with real answers, hands-on support, and zero judgment. Because what you’re doing matters, and how you feel while doing it?
That matters, too.
Why now? Because early feeding struggles don’t fix themselves.
The truth? The longer you wait, the harder it gets. Baby’s hunger cues escalate. Your stress builds. What starts as a small question—”Is this normal?”—quickly snowballs into burnout.
And while it can get better, it doesn’t have to be this hard.
We help families across the Minneapolis Metro get the feeding support they deserve—right away.
Not in three weeks. Not after one more sleepless night. Now.
Lactation Counselor vs. Lactation Consultant—What’s the Difference?
We get this question a lot, and it’s an important one.
At How2Mom, our lactation services are led by certified lactation counselors and educators—trained professionals who support families with common feeding challenges, from latching pain and pumping questions to supply concerns and bottle refusal.
Think of us as your first line of support—the kind of help that meets 90% of families’ needs with hands-on, practical guidance grounded in both evidence and empathy.
But if your baby has more complex feeding issues—like suspected oral motor dysfunction, failure to thrive, or a medical diagnosis impacting feeding—we’ll help you get connected to the right next level of care.
Need more specialized support?
We maintain close partnerships with IBCLCs and lactation consultants throughout the Minneapolis Metro, and we’re happy to refer you when additional expertise is needed. We believe in working as a team—and that includes knowing when to bring in another expert.
No judgment. No confusion. Just honest, collaborative care.
